Our unique approach to supporting young men

Supportive housing is life-saving for many. New Life House does this by working to be sure young men are seen, heard, and have the proper skills for life.

  • To connect with the young men in the program, we have staff who have lived recovery experience, so they can relate.
  • There are also relatable mentors who understand male-specific challenges.
  • We also have a non-judgmental approach to technology and gaming interests, by helping you curate healthy relationships with them.
  • Having age-appropriate guidance and boundaries is helpful when treating young men.

New Life House is different from halfway houses since we offer comprehensive mental health integration. We also have extended lengths of stay, which are needed for sustainable change. Additionally, we focus on life stage development, not just sobriety, so when you transition into independent living, you have the tools to navigate it. Incorporating a family system approach is another difference, since we believe learning how to set boundaries and communicate with your family can create more effective support.

Clinical support through Clear Behavioral Health

While at New Life House, you will have an opportunity to participate in outpatient programs provided by our partner, Clear Behavioral Health.

You will have access to mental health professionals and a care team that will use various therapeutic techniques, such as:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Weekly individual therapy allows you to receive treatment that’s completely focused on you, along with group therapy that involves other perspectives about similar feelings or situations. Both are beneficial when in treatment.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help you replace negative thought patterns with more positive or constructive ones.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches you to manage your emotions with long-lasting techniques.
  • Somatic-Based Approaches will help you identify where in your body you are holding reactions to your symptoms. This helps you reconnect your body and mind, so you can regulate your nervous system to avoid exacerbating symptoms.
  • Specialized trauma treatment can help you unpack your trauma while learning tools to cope with your trauma and the symptoms you’re experiencing from it.
