Inpatient Rehab for Drug and Alcohol Use in Los Angeles, CA
Learn fundamental coping skills in inpatient rehab
Before entering our sober living home, you may benefit from inpatient rehab treatment to safely stabilize and begin healing. In a lot of cases, when recovering from drug or alcohol use, medical detox and rehabilitation are the necessary first steps to sobriety.
Through our sister company, Clear Behavioral Health, you can rehabilitate from drug or alcohol use in a safe, comfortable inpatient treatment center in Los Angeles, CA, to learn life and coping skills before transitioning to one of our long-term sober living homes at New Life House for continued recovery and support.
Why is inpatient rehab necessary for recovery?
Inpatient rehab is a crucial step in recovery, offering the time, space, and structure to focus fully on healing—free from daily triggers and distractions. At Clear, young men receive 24/7 support in a safe, substance-free environment, building a foundation for sobriety through evidence-based therapies, life skills training, and treatment for co-occurring mental health issues.
While detox addresses the physical side of withdrawal, inpatient rehab begins the emotional and behavioral work—identifying root causes, developing coping skills, and preparing for life in recovery. Skipping this step can leave a gap in treatment, while combining detox, inpatient care, and aftercare greatly increases long-term success.

Rehabilitate with Clear Behavioral Health
Through our sister company, Clear Behavioral Health, young men can access in-network treatment services including medical detox, residential inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) throughout the Los Angeles area.
If a medical detox is needed, you will receive a comprehensive clinical assessment and begin your treatment journey at Clear Behavioral Health. After completing detox and inpatient care, you can transition directly into a sober living program or additional levels of care, depending on your needs.
Once treatment at Clear is complete, ongoing support is critical. That’s when you will seamlessly transition to our structured sober living program designed specifically for young men. This continuity of care ensures stability, accountability, and the development of real-world life skills, creating a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

Relapse prevention planning in inpatient rehab
Our inpatient rehab program focuses on more than just stabilization. We help you develop comprehensive relapse prevention plans tailored to your specific substance use history. These plans include real-world coping strategies, emotional regulation tools, and a deeper understanding of addiction triggers.
Here are some of the addictions we treat at inpatient rehab:
- Alcohol – Alcohol addiction often involves both physical dependence and emotional triggers. Because alcohol is widely available in social settings, learning real-life coping skills and trigger management is essential to long-term sobriety. In inpatient rehab, you gain tools to navigate these challenges with confidence.
- Opioids (Fentanyl, Oxycodone, Heroin) – Recovery from opioid addiction requires structured support and targeted therapy. The urge to use can be intense, and inpatient care provides a safe environment to address the underlying causes, identify high-risk scenarios, and build strategies that reduce the risk of relapse.
- Benzodiazepines – Often prescribed for anxiety, benzos can lead to dependency when misused. In treatment, we not only focus on safely tapering off the substance but also address any co-occurring mental health conditions, such as anxiety disorders, that may contribute to misuse.
- Stimulants (Cocaine, Adderall, Meth) – Stimulants are highly addictive and often tied to performance pressure, trauma, or emotional dysregulation. In inpatient rehab, we focus on impulse control, healthy motivation, and relapse prevention techniques to support lasting recovery.
- Polysubstance use – Using multiple substances, such as alcohol and prescription drugs together, requires a more complex treatment approach. Our team works to uncover the root causes of polysubstance use and create an individualized relapse prevention plan that addresses all substances involved.
Detox may be necessary for each of these substance types, depending on usage history and physical dependence. In these cases, inpatient rehab is strongly recommended. 24/7 medical supervision ensures safety, provides immediate intervention if needed, and offers a structured environment where recovery can truly begin.
The recovery journey: detox → inpatient rehab → New Life House
Recovery most often begins with medical detox at Clear Behavioral Health to safely clear substances from the body. Once detox is complete, you’ll move directly into inpatient rehab for intensive therapeutic work that uncovers the root causes of addiction.
From there, you can transition to New Life House, where you’ll:
- Live in a structured sober community
- Receive ongoing support and outpatient care
- Build peer relationships and accountability
- Learn and apply real-world life skills
New Life House helps solidify the progress made in detox and inpatient care and supports long-term success.

What makes New Life House different?
New Life House offers age-specific sober living for young men. By living with peers who are in similar life stages and facing similar challenges, you can develop meaningful connections and receive accountability that strengthens your recovery.
Additionally, our recovery community is what makes New Life House special. We have been around for over 40 years, and during that time, we have cultivated an active alumni community that hosts events and stays involved with the program. At any given time, there are graduates still coming around who have 5, 10, and even 15 or more years of sobriety.
Why age-specific?
One of the foundational tenants of New Life House is our focus on age-specific recovery. Often, young adults are placed in sober living environments with individuals much older than them, who have radically different life circumstances to contend with. We find that by surrounding young men with healthy peers, they are able to relate, build a powerful community, and enjoy long-lasting friendships and support as they move forward in their lives.
Do you focus on life skills?
For young men struggling with substance abuse, mental health, or failure to launch, missing life skills are one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle.
Our program addresses these issues by teaching practical skills such as budgeting, cleaning, cooking, and time management. These life skills prepare you for long-term independence.
What kind of clinical support do you offer?
Through our partnerships with Clear Behavioral Health and Neuro Wellness Spa, residents have access to psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed therapists, medication management, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy, and a therapeutic outpatient program that focuses on emotional growth, accountability, and building tools for sustainable recovery.
Whether your primary struggle is substance abuse or mental health, our recovery model ensures you receive the care and support you need to heal both.
Is there academic or educational support?
From finishing high school to higher education, one on one attention, diverse educational pathways, and a dedicated Director of Education make the New Life House academic program a source of guidance, structure and support that enables our residents to move forward academically.
How about jobs and employment support?
Entering and navigating the workforce in recovery carries its own set of challenges, all of which New Life House helps you address. From the process and skills involved with actually finding, preparing for and interviewing for a great fitting job, to achieving the best work performance possible, you are set up for success.
How are families involved?
Family involvement is a cornerstone of our approach. Families participate in our 90-Day New Family Program, bi-weekly family groups, ongoing Parent Guide mentorship, and family events designed to foster healing and communication.
We also offer opportunities for you to go on passes with your family so you can work on rebuilding those relationships little by little.
What continuing care or alumni support is offered?
Graduates stay connected through alumni programming, including weekly house meetings, mentorship opportunities, group outings, and ongoing fellowship that reinforces long-term sobriety.
Who makes up the treatment and support team?
You will benefit from a holistic team that includes house managers, program directors, and educational mentors who have gone through the same process, as well as therapeutic staff through our clinical partners. This team works together to provide structure, accountability, and emotional support.
