Inpatient treatment options before sober living

Before beginning your sober living journey, it’s beneficial to enter an inpatient program first. Our partnered company, Clear Behavioral Health, has an inpatient program that you can attend.

This program helps you create a new foundation to build on for your sobriety journey. Using therapeutic tools and medication management to stabilize you before entering a sober living program, so the transition is seamless.

Rewiring thought patterns with psychiatric support

As you conclude your visit with Clear Behavioral Health and transition to New Life House, the mental health support doesn’t need to end at that point.

For any reliance or abuse of substances, there tends to be a co-occurring mental health condition like anxiety, depression, or ADHD. Our other partnered company, Neuro Wellness Spa, can continue providing psychiatry services and medication management.

What is cannabis addiction?

Cannabis, also known as weed or marijuana, is a commonly used substance, which at times gives the idea that it’s not as addictive as other substances. The thing is, chronic cannabis use can lead to addiction, especially when tolerance continues to grow as you use it. Weed use in young adults tends to be a common occurrence, and with consistent use, it can lead to cannabis addiction.

Cannabis addiction, or cannabis use disorder, is when someone’s marijuana use starts causing real problems in their life, yet they keep using it anyway. These problems could be with school, work, relationships, or mental health.

Why young men turn to weed

Marijuana tends to be used to try and manage stress, anxiety, boredom, or trauma. When choosing to use cannabis, the reasoning as to why someone is turning to it might not be apparent to them. Normally, it indicates underlying mental health struggles that smoking marijuana seems to quell.

Additionally, young men might turn to marijuana due to peer pressure or wanting to fit in. At first, it seems like a harmless thing to do with friends; however, it can turn into a problematic pattern that may lead to other forms of drug abuse and negative consequences.

Having a physical and even emotional dependence on cannabis is what turns into a deeper issue.

Signs and symptoms of cannabis dependence

Overuse of cannabis can become problematic, including actual withdrawal symptoms. Since most people assume marijuana isn’t addictive, they are surprised to find out certain symptoms they are experiencing might be from marijuana withdrawal.

Some symptoms to note are:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • Lack of motivation
  • Daily reliance
  • Unable to eat without marijuana intake
  • Elevated anxiety or depression

Types of cannabis

Some common forms of cannabis and marijuana are:

  • Dried buds of the cannabis plant that are smoked (bud, pot, flower, joints)
  • Marijuana concentrates that are more potent than regular cannabis (hash, wax, oil, dabs, tincture, distillate)
  • Edible marijuana that can be deceivingly strong (candy, baked goods, drinks)
