30 Dec An Addict’s Perspective On The Holidays
I have now been sober for a little over a year now. This is the most time I have ever had sober in my life. I have never been so grateful and happy about something that I have done in my life. I have been able to regain my family’s trust and get them back in my life. I was new in the house last holiday season and for me being from Georgia was very hard because this was the first holidays I have been away from my whole family. My mom and dad got to come out for the Christmas dinner and I finally got to sit down with a clear mind and tell them how blessed I am to have their support in this program. They were willing to go to any lengths to help me out. I am now able to hold conversations and express my emotions and be myself. This year is going to be great because they are going to get a place for the holidays and I will get to spend time with them and spend the holiday sober with them. The best part is that I will get to take a new guy whose family will not be able to make it with me so he can have a family for the holidays. I am blessed to give back what was done for me. I have got so much love for Miracle house for helping and guiding me to get my life back together and my family back in my life and for giving my tools to have a life beyond my wildest dreams.
