As someone who personally faced the devastation of alcohol and drug addiction—I am currently 20+ years sober—I have profound insight into my son Patrick’s downfall when it became evident he had developed a significant alcohol and drug problem. After twice admitting him into theoretically accredited 30-day inpatient treatment facilities directed by our health insurance, along with several months of intensive outpatient programs (IOP), that was followed by subsequent relapses, it became evident Patrick required a longer term solution.
I was introduced to New Life House through a medical doctor friend, who is also in recovery. His stepson successfully enrolled in the New Life program and is sober today, several years later. I instinctively knew New Life could be a tremendous blessing for Patrick and our family. My intuition was further solidified upon engaging with the New Life Staff. They are excellent communicators, and clearly understand the nuances and wreckage of addiction. We were thankful for their straight-forward approach regarding the arduous journey ahead for Patrick and family, including the time required for long-term substantive changes for recovery to be truly successful. The New Life team’s unique style, insightful daily methodology, and dedicated care are outstanding. Patrick was enrolled in New Life in December 2019, is now 16 months sober. He will soon complete his high school education and recently achieved New Life’s in-house sobriety graduate status.
Words cannot express our family’s gratitude; we are proud of Patrick who has worked incredibly hard. The New Life team provided an environment of boundaries, accountability, inner reflection, clinical support, and seeds of encouragement. Patrick grew from compliance/defiance to acceptance, eventually embracing New Life’s program and sobriety itself. Through New Life’s robust recovery and clinical approach, Patrick has established a strong foundation, vis-a-vis the program’s in-depth education, and practical recovery tools that will help to ensure a successful lifelong journey of sobriety.
New Life’s impressive post-graduate support leads me to believe in Patrick’s continued success. This, along with maintaining accountability to his recovering brothers, staying close to the fellowship, and being of service to others, shall all be key to Patrick living an awesome life of sobriety, “one day at a time.”
With respect and gratitude,
