23 Oct Coming HOME to a Men’s Sober Living
Can you imagine entering a men’s sober living where house members not only gain support, but call it their home rather than a transitional living environment? Think about it, what would you have to feel in a men’s sober living to really feel at home? It’s not uncommon for men at New Life House to feel this way when returning home from their day’s events.
“It was late at night and I finally got off work. The thought, ‘I can’t wait to go home popped in my head.’ It was the first time I truly believed New Life House was my home and not another men’s sober living. The unity of the house, the fact that everyone was more of a friend to me than an acquaintance, that no matter what I was going through they would be there for me at the drop of a hat. I never had friends like that in my whole life and that meant the world to me. All I ever wanted was to be a part of something and the level of comfort I received from the New Life House was exactly what I needed when I was hopeless and struggling with the dramatic change my life had taken. Even as a graduate I still consider New Life House my home. “ -Basel
