Growing up in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Alex Gray looked up to his older brother as most young boys do. Chris Gray was the cool one, the surfer, musician and best friend who seemed invincible. Alex followed in Chris’ footsteps, started surfing and was quickly on his way to becoming a successful pro-surfer. That changed suddenly when his brother, who had developed an addiction to heroin, overdosed. The death of Chris changed the course of Alex’s life, setting him on a path of healing and redemption for himself, his brother’s memory and young people everywhere. Watch Alex’s video interview and hear his story, the story of his brother, how he lives one-day-at-a-time, and works to help other young people who might be toying with the idea that drugs are an option in living a happy life.
